A child's cries. An elderly person's bruises. A girl's tears. They all share a common tragedy -- Family Violence.
Family Violence happens when someone in the family abuses another. Depicting some forms of family violence in Singapore, this video aims to increase awareness of what constitutes family violence and provides information on help channels. It also encourages all who are in such situations to seek help.
The video comprises of individual segments on four types of family violence -- spousal violence, dating violence, child abuse and elder abuse. As the video comes to a close, the audience is once again reminded that family violence is not a passive affair that can be simply resolved with an apology. The video can be screened in its entirety or in its individual segments without losing its meaning.
Throughout the video, help lines of key agencies are displayed. This video serves as a good introduction to what family violence is and can also be shown on public screens to educate and inform the community.
