The Elite saw human sacrifice as a way to control the masses.

Notice the propaganda class that works for the true elite who do nothing but sit and laugh.

These propagandists in modern times could be news anchors, up to Ben Bernanke. They tell us they have basically special knowledge or insights in to the inner workings of the economy and that they alone can bring them out.
Meanwhile we get sacrificed for the Elite's benefit, like the Wall Street Bailout or the Military Industrial Complex

Yes it's a movie, but you've missed the point. The point is that human sacrifice is done to further the aims of those in power and that this fact is nothing new. Human sacrifice for fun and profit is the despicable truth right before our eyes that so many fail to see. Slaughter is very profitable apparently. We need powerful people like we need another hole in the head. Thanks for the wonderful example. There really is nothing new under the sun.
