I regret finding this recording! I will NEVER be pleased with any one else singing this! Martha is one of the most melodic operas ever written~~~~and seldom performed. I could listen to this recording forever! Well done!

Some body seriously needs to do another recording of this piece. It is so astoundingly beautiful, it is so sad that it is not given more attention and care. I remember listening to this when I was four while watching "Willy the Operatic Whale." I've never forgotten it. Too bad ole Pavarotti didn't make a recording. =(

I first came across Lyonel in 1933 when I was 14 years old and have enjoyed him ever since. I must say that this rendering is one of the best I have ever heard

My first on stage Lyonel was from South Africa too - Frans van Daalen - but luckily he sang in German in Vienna of the 1960ies
