April 29, 2011: Here they are in their new home at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. They have a new nest and plenty of fish.

Recorded at 7:15 PM local time

Music by Kevin MacLeod: Ranz des Vaches
I chose this piece because it is melodic and it is about a yearning for home.

  • I'd like to mention that US Airways has contributed to the support of the eaglets.

  • @Marigold3000 Thank you for that information, Marigold.

  • I apparently missed a crucial point in this. Something tragic actually happened to Mom? Such that the only chance for the Eaglets to survive was to take them from Dad? Very sad, and I'm sure it was crushing for him, to lose his lifemate *and* his children, but without her, there was simply no way he could have kept them alive by himself.

  • @anmoose Mom was hit by an airplane, and that same afternoon the eaglets were rescued and taken to an excellent wildlife center. Dad cannot raise them by himself. While he's out hunting, and at night, there would be no fierce mother eaglet to guard against predators.

  • Please note that the name of the Garden is the Norfolk Botanical Garden (NO S). Thanks.

  • @DinoWmn Thank you! I'll correct that--

  • I had read this is the second mate for our female. Her first mate was killed by an airplane and now the female had been killed by an airplane. So sad.

  • @BeautifulEagles,

Ouch! I didn't know. That's disastrous, and I'm sure it's a blow to Dad, to be suddenly left with nothing. But the Eaglets did have to be rescued quickly, for the sake of their survival.

  • I had to cry watching this. So far what few pictures that have come out have shown these beautiful eaglets just lying down. They look so sad. I wish they could have stayed with their nest and Dad, but I understand the reason for them leaving. I feel so sad for not only these three beauties, but for poor Dad, losing not only his mate but his babies too. Thank you for sharing this video.

  • It's so wonderful to know the eaglets are doing well.... but also it's so sad, at least it is for me, to know they're orphans, and somewhere their loving Dad eagle must be missing them a lot, and missing, calling out his beautiful, sweet partner, gone so tragically, unexpectedly .......

Thank you for posting this loving video, BeautifulEagles
