Why have it

@jazzx251 If the goal line cameras were in place during England Vs Germany in the world cup, I dont think anyone would have been bothered wasting 30 seconds of their lives to have a fair goal given to them?

Fair point - but it would reduce the chances of a fiasco considerably.
With so many balls and chips, there's bound to be a few duff ones. So the referee is still king. But on the rare occasion of a genuine controversy, there's more chance of a correct result.
Having said that, the outcome must be instant - a bleep in the ref's ear.
I don't want anything that holds up the game (like in Tennis and Rugby). That's just not football.
It should be an instant decision.

with the chip in the ball, if it is kicked very hard, which it will be, it could become faulty and alert for a goal sometimes if the ball has not passed the line, therefor it will have no change to the fair play.

Stupidest idea ever!

Come on, we all know that there will never be goal-line technology until the companies developing the systems offer a big enough incentive to FIFA and especially Sepp Blatter. If electronics company are serious about their products the only way to get them approved is to offer Blatter and his corrupt cronies big cash incentives, free lunches and possibly occasional call-girls. No bribes on deals. See "Sepp Blatter - FIFA President - statement on goal-line technology"
Soccer’s governing body may decide to introduce goal-line technology as early as March, FIFA President Sepp Blatter said July 27 2011. The Zurich-based body has resisted installing a system to determine whether the ball has crossed the goal line. It was forced to reconsider after receiving criticism when England was denied a game-tying goal against Germany at the 2010 World Cup.

If the International Football Association Board agrees, the technology would take effect for national leagues July 1, 2012, before a decision is made on using it at the World Cup. “We will have on the next international board at the beginning of March next year a final decision on the goal-line technology, If it will prove to be accurate and to be affordable, then it is possible the international board will decide goal-line technology shall be introduced for the World Cup 2014." Sepp Blatter

@100kidane American football and basketball use technology to keep referee error and player cheating to a minimum. I prefer fairplay and justice to any fear of football turning into tennis. Y E S W A Y
