@IsobelLois36 I advise you to first take a look at 'Milton Friedman - Greed' on YouTube. From there, maybe venture over to LibertyPen's YouTube channel. TONS AND TONS of great videos on there. My channel favorites has educational information too. ReasonTV, ForaTV, TedTalksDirect, and many more. 'Howtheworldworks' has a great channel and I advise you to watch his critique of Anne Leonard's 'Story of stuff'. Or just search 'Story of stuff critique'. Friedman and Thomas Sowell are great vids.
@AroundSun So you do promote capitalism? My lecturer is extremely marxist so I think I have developed a slightly biased opinion of what capitalism is. As a concept it seems to be responsible for both beneficial and corrupt influences on the global economy and even current society, with regard to class division. This is interesting. cheers.
@IsobelLois36 Take a trip to the LibertyPen channel on youtube. Make a search for videos of Milton Friedman, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Ron Paul, Hayek, Mises, Rothbard, etc. Sowell and Friedman are the economic geniuses of our time. There you will get some learning. Also, try reading the constitution a little. Especially acrticle 1 section 8. Anymore info you need don't be a stranger. I was an eco student myself majoring in finance and accounting.
@IsobelLois36 You have a lot of learning to do my friend. I don't mean anything personally, I just can't stand it when economic illiterates (not you, the guy in this film) clammer and holler about capitalism, when capitalism is responsible for the highest standard of living for the widest range of people the world has ever seen. Corporatism is to blame on the government for violating their role and distributing corporate welfare. For acting outside of the enumerated powers.
@AroundSun I was just interested. I'm currently looking into it on my course. You seem quite defensive in your arguement. I am still slightly undecided but I would say the corporate world is fundamentally a product of capitalism and a capitalist economy. Special interests is also based on elitism and an economy which generates wealth similarly to extortion - both features of capitalism. What you are describing sounds capitalism to me.
@IsobelLois36 did you not read what I wrote? Blaming capitalism for the current crisis is like blaming a motorcycle i dont have for an accident. It is just bullshit. We operate under a system of corporatism and special interests in this country.
chris harman is a fucking idiot because we haven't had capitalism in over 100 years. so thats an amazing statement to hear something that doesnt exist isnt working. economic illiterates like this moron are ruining our country.
