@pumafakun oh ok, that makes sense now...

@RussellsParadox First off you aren't forced to move two spaces with the pawn, you are actually suggested not to useless you are using a certain opening/gambit. Secondly why do you care that they made "silly moves" it isn't about the game, it's about the animation.

Its like the STAR WARS of Chess !!!
And the sound track makes it look even more dramatic !!!

5 months? Well, it looks like I could make something like that in a few days...
But the concept is pretty nice, I guess :)

@QUATR00 There's no need to be snide, mate :P
Yes, it took us 5 months to do this because we were only working on it an hour a day, and had no idea what we were doing in maya. 3 high school kids with no knowledge of animation, maya, OR chess = this.

@pumafakun an hour a day feels like there was no passion involved in this project :)

@QUATR00 One hour a day was all that we were allowed because our computers at home couldn't handle it. We could only work on it in class.

You might want to learn something about the game before undertaking a project like this. The moves are utterly silly.
Pawns can move 2 squares on their first move, you know.

We realized that. The thing is that everyone kinda did their own thing for the first two weeks of the project...
Before we eventually did an "oh crap, we should have some consistency here..."
So we put together a shaky game that made absolutely no sense :P This is several years old now and none of us knew anything about how it worked at the time.
If we were to redo it (which probably won't happen) we'd do an actual chess game that made sense. Thank you for the input, though :)
