I read a blog with a pretty cool interp. of this video. lots of symbolism.
His trunk holds his past, fears, insecurities, etc. Thats y she cries. He asks her to go away with him, though there r uncertainties ahead (area around them is always dark and desolate). They stop along the way (gas station). He leaves, she goes after him, he comes back. They don't always see eye 2 eye (hood vs roof) but they stick together. Burning car symbolizes past mistakes and continuing on.
