Charlie Weaver Bartender robot toy

This is a toy I found in the attic while moving. It use to belong to my father and I believe it to be from the 1950's. I put batteries in and it worked. Charlie shakes a drink and then pours it into the glass. Drinks it, puckers his mouth, his face turns red and smoke comes out his ears. A really awesome find to go with my other collectible toys.

I just checked eBay. They only sell for about $25 to $40 if it works and is in good shape.

Need to position his left arm so the glass goes to his mouth, then, position this right arm so the shaker pours into the glass. Also, you can buy re-fill wicks for his ears. the hot mix is supposed to make him red faced, coughing, and ears smoking.

does anyone know how to repair charlies face crunching ability. The mecanism moves , but there is no facial movment. How is the mechanism attached to his face ?

Charley Weaver bartender dolls were made (I believe) in the early 1960s by the Rosco toy company. Another company made them for a while. For those who don't know, Charley was a character played by Cliff Arquette, grandpa to Patricia, Rosanna, David and Alexis Arquette. He was also something of a party animal. He suffered a series of strokes in the early 1970s and died in 1974.
