  • FYI I invented the term sac trained killer, and landshark. ha ha. Carswell AFB 1974-1978 7th Security Police Sq KC's and Buffs. We had a 10,000 ft active and it dpped down in the middle, and the B-52's take off or land you can only see the tail in the heat waves it looks like a landshark.

I retired 3 years ago, 33 years still a senior airman! actually I finished my civil service in Fed career.

We were the shit, no doubt.

  • Thank you for a wonderful video! I was a SAC brat. Dad was stationed in NM as a pilot on the B-36's, B-47's in Plattsburg, and B-52's at Seymour Johnson. At Seymour, he was the Wing Commander for the 68th BW. Retired in '65 as he told them two wars were enough. I joined the USAF in 1968, and ended up as a 321X0K. Got out in '72 as Nam was winding down. It was an experience most would never understand....

  • I wish to thank you for this upload. It brings back some fine memories. I was stationed at the Griff from 1971 to 1976. 668th BS, 416th BW(H). as a tail gunner. Spent time in the DFCS shop for training. I want you all to know that in my humble opinion you gave us the most outstanding equipment to do our job. A high Thumbs up on a well done job.

I grew up in Westmoreland, south of Rome, my Mom worked at Griffiss back in the '50s. We used to see these guys fly over the house...what a sight....of course all conversation stopped...you couldn't hear anyone talk! :)

  • Pretty cool slide show. I actually wanted to be a B-52 Gunner but the AFSC was phased out the year before I went in.

  • looks like lowry
