MEET JANET LANGER

Janet has been teaching and choreographing for over fourteen years and still remains a student yearning to evolve new styles fused of many elements. Her love and passion for teaching all ages has spread Nationally and Internationally. She is trained in Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Breakdance and Modern, but her influences don't stop there. Janet is inspired heavily by anything and everything in her environment. Clear explanation of technique, pure expression and a lot of fun are what make Janet's classes fulfilling and memorable. Most recently she has worked as the assistant choreographer on Donald Trumps Miss Universe Pageant 2008 in Vietnam and taught guest workshops at the Broadway Dance Center in Tokyo, Japan. She has assisted Choreographer Teresa Espinosa on Mylie Cyrus music video, Start All Over and with the new pop group, "The Beach Girlz". She also served as the Assistant Choreographer/Producer of Kevin Mahers STEREOTYPE. Most know Janet as the Original Founder and Creator of The Funkanometry Dance Company. Janet has done choreography and master classes for numerous studios, high schools, companies and universities and served on the prestigious dance faculty at The University of California, Irvine. She has also performed with the world renowned Groovaloos in their stage show, "GROOVALOO". Janet is very proud to have been a semi-finalist on Hi-Hat's new reality-TV pilot, "The Choreographer". She attributes much of her Hip-Hop foundation to her original dance crew, Kaba Modern (Americas Best Dance Crew) of whom she is a proud alumnus from years 1996-2000. She is also one of the verstatile, strong and sexy members of Essence, a Hip-Hop crew of all incredible ladies. Other credits include: Lifetime Channel, New Talent Generation Convention, Monsters of Hip-Hop: The Show, EVE: Dawn of a New Horizon, Toyota, Carnival, Dance2xs Portugal/London/Chicago/UIUC, Loyola Marymount University, NIKE, Kat Jimenez, The Ellen Show, Unity Dance Ensemble. Janet dedicates gratitude towards her most influential mentors including: Kevin Maher, Teresa Espinosa, Rino Nakasone, Tessandra Chavez, Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo, JP San Pedro, Desiree Robbins, Kaba Modern, The Jabbawockeez, The amazing Essence Ladies, and of course, Funkanometry.
