Kate and Anna McGarrigle "Love Is" Live - Best Quality on YouTube!

Kate and Anna McGarrigle sing "Love Is" recorded live in 1993 during an interview with NPR's Terry Gross.
This song is IMPOSSIBLE to find legally in digital form. To make matters worse, the album it appears on, "Heartbeats Accelerating", is out of stock everywhere and Amazon only offers an import version for $30. I'll risk this one video I made so that people may hear every loving detail of this song. Isn't it a nice change to hear such lovely voices unaltered by Auto-Tune?

It's such a shame that I only just heard of this group that's been around since the 70's. It was bittersweet to discover them when NPR recently replayed the McGarrigle sister's interview with Terry Gross because of the sad loss of Kate to cancer. I feel so fortunate I was able to "discover" her but at the same time I was saddened by the loss of a woman I hadn't even been aware of minutes earlier.

The artists deserve compensation and it's a shame this album and song aren't available for purchase.

It's in mono because the source was mono.

Wonderful! Wonderful! 'So glad I got to see Anna and Kate about 3 years ago. Kate....sadly missed....but weren't we're left with such gifts? ....RIP

The album IS available on Amazon Canada, and not expensive (they are Canadians, after all).

Emmylou Harris recorded a number of McGarrigle songs, including this one, and often expressed admiration for them. Linda Ronstadt's major hit "Heart Like a Wheel" is written by them, and she recorded more their songs (Heartbeats Accelerating)

Strongly agree with your comments about the "cancer" of Autotune, plus the proliferation of vocal calisthenics as per Mariah Carey, et. al.
