Sawyer&Kate || Quotes from The Fountainhead

The Fountainhead was the book Sawyer read when separated from Kate. It is also my favorite book. The main characters are Howard Roark and Dominique Francon. They are in love, but he lets her go for some long years, because she is afraid of the world's and other people's power to crush everything that is important to her.

I have taken out some quotes from the book, simplified them a little bit and made a video with Sawyer and Kate.

Here are full quotes I have used:

"Why do you always stare at me?" she asked sharply. She thought with relief that words were the best means of estrangement. She had denied everything they both knew by naming it wrong.

"We never need to say anything to each other when we're together. This is - for the time when we won't be together. I love you, Dominique. As selfishly as the fact that I exist. But the thought of her remained. He watched it with curiosity. It was strange to be conscious of another person's existence, to feel it as a close, urgent necessity; a necessity without qualifications, neither pleasant nor painful, merely final like an ultimatum. It was important to know that she existed in the world; it was important to think of her, of how she had awakened this morning, of how she moved, with her body still his, now his forever, of what she thought.

Then he kissed her and let her go.

I think the finale itself was written with the goal of Elsworth Toohey (from the same book) - to destroy everything that has a smallest potential of being majestic, because it scares all the masses which are uncapable of being great. The whole last episode gave me shivers, but in such a way that I don't want to experience it anymore. All the beautiful stories destroyed and crushed at the feat of a non-hero. I stop now =) Sawyer and Kate live!

I think that Sawyer and Kate have escaped before the finale to a nice place for them both. And were very much amused to watch how the stand-ins for each of them acted those horrible love stories with Jack and Juliet. :D If Lost was a real life story, it would be impossible for them not to be together.

i can't stop laughing. this video is precisely why the tooheys of the world will always win....do you guys even understand what the book is about? huh? i suppose all you can say is that it FEELS important and everybody is TALKING about it.....and, of course, that some of the quotes can be applied to the "romance" of these pigs too. what a waste.

i have finished reading the Fountain Head, and was feeling so lost.

I typed "the fountainhead" to find this video. It is amusing to see another "creator" among youtube, which I think is a rarity.

Shame that I haven't finished Lost season 6 yet. Thank you for the video.
