Bellmer's work was a way to slap Hitler across the face because he didn't agree with his grotesque idealization of 'perfect people'. All of his dolls were purposely made to look malformed or disturbingly twisted. He made each and everyone of them as a voice against fascism.

I say these dolls are beautiful in their own kind of way, I respect them and the artist :) ( tho he turned into a porn artist and that is when my opinion on him faltered slightly....)

if by better you mean more accomplished then its down to individual taste. if you mean more successful or influential then clearly hans bellmer takes first prize. who gives a crap about giger anyway? except of course soppy cultural "extremists" who think that for an image to be trully dark or disturbing it must be black, with dim lighting (candle of course), and a plethora of bones and cold metal.
