This is my first attempt at "reharmonization". I made my own arrangement of Billy Strayhorn's Chelsea Bridge.

  • Like it very much. What are copywrite laws?

  • on second thought "honky tonk" is charitable - more like 60s sitcom theme music

  • i applaud your effort - strayhorn was a genius but this tune was flawed - the beautiful beginning is haunting and mysterious but then it resolves to some honky tonk cop out - i/m not sure anyone can really remedy it - a similar piece with more integrity to it is ballad for bernt by kristof komeda

  • I think it's a strange idea to reharmonize a song which already has such a sophisticated harmony. Not to say if it's good or bad, but it makes even harder to match the original ; though it may not be the goal...

  • excellent, really enjoyed that

  • I am surprised this is your first attempt at reharmonization. How did you suddenly get all those ideas? That sounds beautiful. I'm trying to learn this song and am not sure what scales go over the the flat minor major seventh chords??

  • it sounds good but you're behind a beat in the head, try to keep in tempo next time but it sounds really good keep it up :)
