this movie has inspired me more then anything else has ever done so i am thankful to have learned of such a brave smart and adventurous person i feel the same way he did when he left i have to find myself and find what true happiness is and he has really helped me i am forever greatful for him he IS my hero.

Every time I am work I wish I were doing what he did, with the exception of the starvation part. Freedom from a life as a indentured servant in taxes and debt. Really he was one of the last free men. Yes he failed in Alaska but at least he tried at what he wanted, I bet in heaven he is proud, he didn't go through life without giving his goal a go of it, win or die. Props Supertramp
