woah I don't think teachers were supposed to be this outwardly biased! lol.

Do you have the part just before this?
Thanks!

haha , helen is brilliant ! : )

a'course. :)
and hell no, she doesn't!
somewhere deep down inside the maze of her bitchiness, i think tingle wanted leigh ann to make it and yet a good part of her wanted her to fail. it must have been hard to have a student like leigh ann, knowing she's capable of so much and yet hating her because of all the opportunities she'll afford herself, especially because that moment of all-doors-open has passed for tingle.

yes. well, im sure leigh ann expected an 'A' for spending 6 months putting together this project and tingle, who defined irony as "the opposite of what is or might be expected" is saying that if leigh thinks she's getting an 'A,' the result will be ironic because, in fact, she won't be. tingle just crushed her hopes for valedictorian because she needs the best grade to beat trudy. and of course, mrs. tingle welcomes trudy's project with open arms, a sign that she'll get the 'A' and be on top.
that line is brilliant! and i like how she follows it up with:
"Irony is the opposite of what is or might be expected. Uh, for example, if Ms. Watson was expecting an 'A' on her history project, she might find the actual result to be rather ironic. I pray your Salem witch escapes such a literary infraction."

"I am well aware of what irony is, Ms. Watson. You, on the other hand, should consult your dictionary."
One of my favorite all-time movie lines. EVER.
