  • The English signs peppered now, it seems people like making pot shots at it. It's funny the Welsh sign opposite the English is untouched... When crossing the Borders I ran the distance to say I ran from England to Wales before hoping back on the narrow boat!

  • usually im not a man for superlatives BUT I make an exception here. If you want to know what heaven looks like then go to Llangollen,,,,it is easily the most beautiful place Ive ever been to in my life..........the chirk castle and all its animals and geese ... the other smaller castles....the steam trains...the lakes.....the snowdon mountains and cadair idris.....the ancient bautiful old shops untouched unspoilt in centuries ...then the rivers and the canals and the bridges and aquaducts....

  • roy west

  • A very nice video and tour,thanks.

  • Nice video, enjoyed watching it! :)

I always wondered what would happen if a canal bridge collapsed.

I know they have locks every so often along the canal, but i know a few Canal Bridges near where i live and the nearest locks are miles away.

Heard that they have slots at either side of the bridge, where they put wooden beams in, should the bridge fail.

But if the bridge totally collapsed, how would they get a piece of wood down against the force of the current, as the water pour's down...

  • I'm going here in 4 weeks time for a week and it looks lovely!
