In 1971 or 1972 - I forget - we, 1/39 Inf., roadmarched with all our vehicles including tracked ones from Baumholder to Hohenfels/Vielseck in 2.5 or 3.5 days - I forget - & crossed the Rhine River twice - once going to & once on the way back - on assault landing pontoon bridge sections. Butts get sore when driving 10-12 hours in a day, & also your hearing gets bad.
