Can you wait until next spring?

Its not planting time for me until then.

How long does potato grow before it can be harvested?

I just planted my potato (6 seedlings) last week Saturday. Its my first time to grow potato.

I come from Papua New Guinea where I grow sweet potatoes. I am very excited at my new experiment.

Coming across all these uTube videos is thrilling me. I thought I was the only one doing that in my backyard. Now I can learn from you all!

Thank you very much! I will capture my potato& tomato garden on harvesting.

Hi And thanks for comment. Best advise I can give you....It depends on what type of seed potato you planted ( Early, main crop or lates. Of course where you are and your weather. I would say let them grow until the green folage tops start to die down. At that stage you can leave them for maybe another two weeks to fatten up. Or you can cut the greenery off and maybe wait a further two weeks for the potatoes to fatten up.

I think 12 to 13 weeks is the usual growing time

  • Your potatoes are small because they didn't have enough room...

Today our 35p is worth 0.54 of your US dollars

  • @capney Thanks for answering all my questions. So 35p would roughly equal 70cents in our money since 1L = 2 dollars. Your money is more valuable than ours:)

  • @SuperNaggy Sorry I have been so long.

Drainage holes are a must, at least 6mm in diameter and some broken crocks or stones as a lather in the bottom, this will help prevent the holes blocking

  • @JohnBournemouth

    12- 13 weeks if I remember correctly

  • @mammal46

Ok. Thanks for comments, and thanks for watching. I appreciate it.

I usually harvest when the top greenery is dying down and turning yellow.

If you like they can be left in the ground. Leave them for 2 weeks in the soil and the skins will get thicker which apparently means they store better.

    Whats 35p?

I forget u tube is a global audiance... 32p is short for 32 pence.

Here in England we have 100 pence to £1 our money.

Pence is shortened to simple "p"
