  • @Toastbrot40

Yeah, you're right, such race fights will never happen today, they are more concerned

about the safety as for the racing :'-(

  • Very nice edit, nice sync with the music. A clear 5 :)

  • The only way that could have been any better is if it was for the win instead.

    Simple answer:

    0:22 is live, 0:48 is a replay,

look at the left upper corner.

  • ...neither was I defending - my main point being (no matter what this specific vid shows) marciopdelgado's msg 8 months ago, claiming Massa vs. Kubica in Japan 07 was better.

  • Alright, I may have missed that. Regardless, my main point was that the footage in this video is repeated. Compare 0:22 and 0:48. Arnoux has passed Villeneuve, yet he is doing the exact same takeover at 0:48. All camera angles and car positions are identical. At 0:58, you can briefly see the same shot of the crowd reacting exactly as they do at 0:32. I could go on, but I believe that is sufficient.

  • Arnoux took the position but Villeneuve attempted an outside pass one corner later. The cars bumped hard, Villeneuve slid wide but then passed Arnoux on the inside at a hairpin turn and held him off for the last half of the lap to secure second place."

    That's 4 times.

  • Quoting Wiki :

"Arnoux passed Villeneuve for second place with three laps to go, but Villeneuve re-passed him on the next lap. On the final lap Arnoux attempted to pass Villeneuve again, and the pair ran side-by-side through the first few corners of the lap, making contact several times.

  • Heh, wasn't trying to challenge you. I was merely pointing out that the footage here was repeated. I'm not sure how you can be more sure than that. For the sake of posterity, I looked up Villeneuve's wiki, and it only describes 2 takeovers in this race, which would match the unedited version of this video.
