@Blazeofsolo sorry I was wrong, its 287-455 from 1951-1981that share the exact same block size for pontiac, gee almost wrong there, sorry to misslead you, but it is a small block, all pontiac built were small blocks also i meant 326 not 324, cubes do not have anything to do with big or small blocks, dodge's 318 is indeed a big block, but the 340 is a small block, go figure...not to be rude but learn your cars

@Blazeofsolo 455 is a small block, the 400 is also a small block, chevy made a small block400 and big block 400, pontiac never made a big block, sorry you need yo know your pontiacs sir, i for sure do, many books read, many gto's owned and built, its the same block from 324 straight to 455

@dajudge1969 Guess you don't know your facts then... 455 is indeed a big block, 324 would NOT have the same block as a 455 small block compared to a big block there, BUT the Amish guy was still wrong, it would have been a 400 CID motor not a 455, the 455 was available in the GTO in 1970 though, since GM dropped the ban of 400 CID being the max size for a motor in a mid sized car that year. So maybe you should learn a few more facts before making an uneducated statement that is incorrect.
