  • @soulfulpianochic3931 you have a point, when Prince toured with Rick James back in 1981 they were called Funk/Punk, Prince hated the term because it was much more then that. Anyway, it's so refreshing to see black artists exploring all kinds of music. It's sad that the whole idea of black music been a pop sound was popularized by Michael Jackson and friends. Black music is much more then that.

  • I don't think so much Afro-punk...Maybe more on the lines of funk/rock but she definately pulls from MANY genres apparently...I think she was probably a big attraction for the festival though...

  • LOVE HER.....AHHHHHH!!!!

  • I love it. So refreshing to see a woman perform with out trading on her sexuality. Makes me realize how rare that is. She's the definition of sui generis.

  • I don't care what "category" you people want to place her under, I'm just happy to see more than monolithic foolery.

  • beautiful music!! i love it

  • I cannot stop playing 4:30 - 5:00. The guitar riff and background music is just too catchy!

  • @powersoulboy Michael didn't stay strictly within the confines of pop, he also experimented with R&B, funk and rock. That's why he's been able to inspire a variety of artists in more than the pop genre. Don't blame him for today's artists corrupting what was once the goodness of pop music and turning it into watered down, generic crap.

  • @rodentcafeteria Nothing is original, and Janelle and Grace don't have THAT much in common stylistically, anyway.

  • I was there! GREAT show i hope she keeps it up

  • shes perfectly perfect in every way

  • ahh this is my girl right here!
