January 13 2011 video of the Urban Food Farm from http://urbanfoodfarms.com.
The vegetables are doing amazing. We harvested 15oz of organic baby greens and figure we will can get 15oz per week with 8 feet out of our 92 feet total planting space with a 8x12 footprint.
The tomatoes are doing fantastic, vertical growing by the book, a cluster every 5 inches or so. We have beefsteak, cherry and roma tomatoes.
There is also one zucchini that popped out since our last video 2 weeks ago. By the way, that previous urban food farm video says it was taken on 12/21 but was actually taken on 12/27, sorry for the mistake.
The celery also grew a few inches in 2 weeks and it also got much greener.
We realized that this greenhouse kit is even more efficient than I thought because we can harvest only the vegetables we need and in some cases like celery, there is no need to harvest the whole vegetable plant, only cut what is needed. At the market, you can only get a whole celery, but having the greenhouse kit in the backyard allows to just cut the leaves / branches needed and leave the rest of the vegetable plant to grow.
This is the only commercial greenhouse design available as a full kit with hydroponics and all. It grows organic vegetables year round, a truly sustainable city agriculture system.
There is an alumi net that goes on top. The greenhouse system comes with it.

I live in Los Angeles and do not need to use a heater in the winter. The system is totally off the grid. You can visit urbanfoodfarms to see the complete greenhouse kits. You can order the whole sustainable city agriculture system and assemble it on site. It comes complete with irrigation, fertilization, growing medium, plants and seeds. There is really nothing more to buy except the wood for the frame and floor tarp if needed.
