  • Tell it to ID Software, I didn't make normal maps...

  • :) We've made Steel Storm: Burning Retribution using DarkPlaces engine and Tomes of Mephistopheles alpha is due next week.

  • Yes, and soon a new development portal will be coming about using it for game development.

  • The haven't come to life yet. Too much work with Steel Storm game. Plus I haven't see too much interested in modding for Darkplaces game engine (making indie games using it, that is).

  • No, it's Imp straight out of Doom 3.

After we ship Steel Storm, which uses Darkplaces engine, I am going to begin working on a series of books dedicated to indie game development using Darkplaces engine. It will cover modding of a an existing first, and will go in-depth of coding using QuakeC, using mapping tools; also it will cover such topics as art assets pipeline for Darkplaces using Blender and GIMP.

  • the normal maps they look ugly :\
