Member Simple Machines urban posse returned from another expedition to search for and burying the remains of soldiers killed during the Great Patriotic War. The expedition included: students learning groups to prepare to defend the motherland, instructor-teaching staff of MU "EGTSPV; members of the youth organization of the primary Simple Machines of the local WFP office of United Russia, representatives MVPO" Generation "and the city branch of the SBI," Combat Brotherhood ". In total, the expedition was attended by 45 people.
This year's expedition took place in the villages Luzhny and Stone Mountain, that Demyansk district, Novgorod region. The weather this spring was clearly not the spring, it was cold, some days it rained, and the one "perfect" morning, even snow. But no matter what the search engines every day went into the woods, where once there were bloody battles to find the remains of fallen heroes.
During the expedition had to overcome the difficulties of camp life, make many kilometers of wetlands, to construct a ferry, spend the night in tents, work from morning till night. Search - hard work, often for several days, with no visible result.
During the first 9 days of searching by the Simple Machines unit raised the remains of 20 soldiers of the Red Army. For personal belongings were able to identify the names of three Soviet soldiers heroically died during the war - it Limanets Andrei Sidorovich of Zhytomyr region, Volkov Mikhail D. from the Gorky region and Tarasenko Vassily from the Altai region. Found new exhibits that will occupy a worthy place in the museum, "In Memory of the Unknown Soldier."
On the last day of the current search tradition, the search was conducted the ceremony: "The Last Story" ...

These aren't 'graves' they are digging up, these bodies are in an old trench. They fell there and the trench was obviously filled in after they were killed in combat. Digging them up and giving these guys a proper burial and a marker is not disrespectful, it is absolutely the opposite.

Much respect to the Russian people in the Great Patriot War. Some of us westerners actually know who really beat the majority of the Nazi war machine.
