Overall, pretty good. I didnt like the balance of the band though. The high voices were to overpowering. It needs a stronger bass foundation

definitely, the horn section needs to be a lot stronger in the slow section. In our band, the alto saxes play the english horn cues in this. It works out pretty well.

I agree with heyheyhey.
The chorale section is a bit out of tune.
Likewise though, I thought the french horn messed up the chorale especially near the end of it where the director took a retardando.
In the fugue, the brass blasted sound, it wasn't light like HOS was intended to be.
Otherwise, pretty good. I don't mean to be too critical.

XD You mean French Horn. Haha. We only had one, & Karen was amazing at it...now we have 3, and our 1st chair is a Freshamn & MAN he's good.

Your comments are fare, no need to appolgize. However, being a member of this band I feel the need to defend your statements. I agree the chorale was out of tune and we only had one french horn so staggering and breaks was difficult. For the fugue, our director wanted a build up to the final phrase (sorry I don't have the measure numbers) so thats why that is the way it is. Director interpretation kinda gives you the "musical right" to change things up. Thanks for your thoughts!!
