This is the latest ABC 08/09 billiards season yearbook. The Academic Billiards Collective is the formative, not for profit organization that outfits public schools with all the necessary equipment to host a billiards club. We make available math, physics and art lessons, using the game of pool as a visual aid or manipulative. Currently we are in our 1st official year of interscholastic competition. Indian Springs Schools in Indian Springs NV initiated the program in-house, for the first time last school year, in an effort to collect data on billiards club members' academic and behavioral performance since joining the club. Proving successful in both regards, in school year 08/09 we began to service the Clark County School District, signing up 4 middle schools and 4 high schools.
We envision constructing the quonset style structure, billiards rec room through corporate advertising dollars in the area around Indian Springs School as a place for students to have safe harbor after school and as a place to conduct billiards camps during the summer for anyone interested in bringing up their game. Currently there is a wind turbine and some space on the quonset structure left for sponsorship.
