  • Yeah a well built 440. Sounds totally awesome.

  • Cheetah SCS manual valve body is the way to go. This one is a reverse pattern, which also helps. Get the parts from Summit and have a good local shop do the work. Not really complicated.

  • I just bought a 74 duster with a 440 in it, what exhaust are you running on yours, sounds awesome.. What size tires are on back?

  • @drewwaterz1686 prolly like 10 or 12 mpg highway....believe it or not though, the 383 and 400 big blocks actually get good mileage if you don't drive crazy, i've heard quite a few people say that their 400 2-barrel gets 18, 19 mpg highway. The 440 is pretty much the same bore size as the 400, the 440 has a 9mm longer stroke though so you can see how that'll make gas mileage plummet. I like big blocks with short strokes personally.
