Exactly, they're also accused of "shady" recruiting tactics to "trick" people into joining. From my experience it is the complete opposite -- you have to try really hard and prove yourself, there is a sort of "moral elitism" to it all I guess. I mean they have like 60,000 members worldwide!! Most churches will have that in one city alone.
I can tell you from experience, these guys are the real deal; completely dedicate their lives to Christ and holiness. Beautiful organisation.

they said we are all called to holiness.. but i promise you guys,, go to one of the Opus Dei's centers in your place.. the nearest one.. you will learn a lot from them...=)) i love them!!! they're so holy!

@Arcaddio33 That is right. Be a good person, while retaining your independent thought and individuality.
-
They seem like good wholesome people. At least their doing something positive in life..
-
@Arcaddio33 And what is your proof for all these things?
-
I agree with you. They fear anything that is remotely religious. Those fearful, hateful comments are a result of a spiritual degradation and progressive-secularization of every last facet of modern culture. Too bad..
-
you don't need religon or a cult to become whole. People on Paxil seem happy too.
-
The real world is another..
You can be a good person even without someone that tell you what to do...expecially from a priest member of the Spanish State...Franciso Franco's authoritarian dictatorship....please rispect your body...and your free mind...don't give'em your money....they use it for business...not for good things for everyone...
-
@karlkarlkarl1234 Well you guys should. You shouldn't judge people as less intelligent for reporting what goes on.
-
Because it's usually wild baseless rumors, often offensive at best. It isn't in their interests to care what stupid people think. They prove themselves daily through their work alone.

There are a lot of good things about Opus Dei. Focus on those, and not on the few negative things.
