Exactly, they're also accused of "shady" recruiting tactics to "trick" people into joining. From my experience it is the complete opposite -- you have to try really hard and prove yourself, there is a sort of "moral elitism" to it all I guess. I mean they have like 60,000 members worldwide!! Most churches will have that in one city alone.

I can tell you from experience, these guys are the real deal; completely dedicate their lives to Christ and holiness. Beautiful organisation.

  • they said we are all called to holiness.. but i promise you guys,, go to one of the Opus Dei's centers in your place.. the nearest one.. you will learn a lot from them...=)) i love them!!! they're so holy!

  • @Arcaddio33 That is right. Be a good person, while retaining your independent thought and individuality.

  • They seem like good wholesome people. At least their doing something positive in life..

  • @Arcaddio33 And what is your proof for all these things?

  • @karlkarlkarl1234

I agree with you. They fear anything that is remotely religious. Those fearful, hateful comments are a result of a spiritual degradation and progressive-secularization of every last facet of modern culture. Too bad..

  • you don't need religon or a cult to become whole. People on Paxil seem happy too.

  • The real world is another..

You can be a good person even without someone that tell you what to do...expecially from a priest member of the Spanish State...Franciso Franco's authoritarian dictatorship....please rispect your body...and your free mind...don't give'em your money....they use it for business...not for good things for everyone...

  • @karlkarlkarl1234 Well you guys should. You shouldn't judge people as less intelligent for reporting what goes on.

  • Because it's usually wild baseless rumors, often offensive at best. It isn't in their interests to care what stupid people think. They prove themselves daily through their work alone.

  • There are a lot of good things about Opus Dei. Focus on those, and not on the few negative things.
