A prayer by the late Evangelist Mattie B. Poole of Chicago, Illinois during one of her live radio broadcasts originating from the Bethlehem Healing Temple. Sister Poole along with her husband the late Bishop Charles Poole and workers traveled extensively across the country during the 1950's and 60's in their "healing campaigns" where thousands were saved and healed through her ministry.

  • IM NOT SURE IF THIS MOTHER WAS FROM THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST OR ANOTHER PENTECOSTAL/HOLINESS MOVEMENT. BUT I DO FEEL THAT SHE HAD SOME DEALINGS WITH OUR LATE BISHOP CH MASON.

  • @nowfaith0675 Although Sister Poole was born in Memphis Tennessee, to my knowledge she was not affiliated with the late Bishop C. H. Mason or COGIC. She and her husband, the late Bishop Charles Poole founded the Living Witnesses of the Apostolic Faith. Most Pentecostal/Holiness church services in the 50’s and 60’s shared similar worship styles although doctrines and beliefs differed.

  • @cj4theway That is right the pools roots goes back to PAW.

  • For you all who keep saying she was COGIC she was not but she and bishop mason visited each other churches. No offense to COGIC you are a great organization I just don't want to be apart of it and plus I've had many COGIC members try and tell me that what we teach is an cult and it's too strict but lest we forget that God is Strict and require a standard how dare some of us apostolics and COGIC women Wear pants make up and jewelry Webe lost ourselves in this world. It's HOLINESS OR HELL.

  • Thank you so much for this wonderful post. My experiences with Bethlehem Healing Temple were through their broadcast which aired, in recent years, on Saturday mornings at 8:30 A.M. on WYCA. At that time, it was still 92.3 FM. I always enjoyed the broadcasts under Bishop A.C. Richards. This is a great treat for me hearing one of the founders. Thanks again.

  • Amen... Yes Mother was not COGIC... She was Apostolic.

  • Evangelist Mattie B. Poole was APOSTOLIC (Acts 2:38). She was NOT COGIC. Her husband was Bishop Charles E. Poole, they both started Living Witnesses of the Apostolic Faith Inc (Chicago) and around the Nation. They started out PAW, but left. They was mentored by Bishop Samuel N. Hancock. They pastored Bethlehem Healing Temple (Chicago) where I was licensed a Minister by their protege Bishop Dr. A.C. Richards. COGIC is a great denomination, but Evangelist Mattie B. Poole wasn't COGIC.

  • @anthsmith2006 You almost sounded as if any association with the COGIC would have been a bad thing. I know Sis. Poole did not associate with the COGIC and likewise. Most Pentecostal -Holiness churches that held trinitarian beliefs did not fellowship with those who were apostolic.People were more strict about that then than they are now. I am not COGIC but I will say there were a few churches that had very strict holiness beliefs, so they weren't ALL loose.

  • In response to you all my pastor sat under mother and bishop Poole she stayed with them traveled with them and she isn't and wasn't affiliated with the cogic although she met bishop mason she was never affiliated with the cogic church she left the PAW bc she felt that there teachings were to loose she was baptized in Jesus name by bishop gt haywood. She WAS NEVER AFFLIATED with the Cogic. You may ask how I know so much well my pastor lived with the

  • Im so gratful God shared her with us. She more than just a memory. what she gave will never b forgotten she was an amazing woman of God, a true example of holiness
