Hemp, although related to Cannabis (marijuana) is not psychoactive -- it cannot be smoked to get high -- it is only illegal because it looks like marijuana and it's distantly related to the plant. If we legalized industrial hemp production in the United States, we can completely remove our dependence on foreign oil altogether, and avoid disasters like the BP oil spill in the future. If Henry Ford could produce a hemp car running on hemp fuel in 1941, why is it now illegal?

Hemp is a plant which can't be patented so nobody can make money. Is why it's illegal along with cannabis for medicine. Concentrated THC oil kills cancerous cells. Google or YouTube Rick Simpson

If us 'commoners' could grow hemp, and sell it to factories for material, plastics, papers, medicine... etc.. then we would all have a job and money, cloths, fuel efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles, we could stop chopping trees and suffering from most ailments.... but then where would the government and pharmaceutical companies get there money? where would they get their kicks and laughs! how would they live without their mass of 'stuff'!!

@Lundvalnaden you completely missed the point i made. The population is ever increasing nd all these people need jobs. All of the jobs created as a result of cars are really neccesary to keep the world turning.

I understand how you can say its wrong to ban hemp for these reasons, but it may not all be about money making. Think about the catastrophe to all the insurance companies and panelbeters in the world if this were built in cars today. The unemployment rate is all ready at an all time high, imagine how high it would be if every panelbeter were put out of work because no one needed there car body fixed anymore. It may be wrong, but its perhaps reality. I am not saying I agree with that though
