A short clip of my good friend master percussionist Hakan Kaya. He teaches and performs with the darbuka, bendir, cajon, and indian tabla. He is based in Istanbul, and teaches at Sound Fabrika Studios.

  • raghebn: Ignorance is as ignorance does...for dear Raghebon, I wasn't calling him a beginner at ALL! I was referring to myself as the beginner. I came to this video because the title refers to an "exercise" so I was expecting a lesson on playing of sorts and didn't find that in this video. He's a great player as many others on here are. My apologies, but the ignorance is apparently mutual since you didn't understand what I said.

  • @anjylkat Oh sorry. I did indeed misunderstand.

  • Far too much ego 4 this beginer! And it wouldnt entice me to take lessons either. Sorry, dont wish to appear rude, I am truly looking for someone who does lessons and not finding any that would encourage.

  • @anjylkat you're free to like or dislike anything out there of course, but ego? Considering he doesn't even speak during the clip, but just demonstrates an exercise I'm a bit puzzled why you would say something like that. And considering he's been performing for over 15 years, tours Europe regularly with Nev and has performed with Aynur Dogan and countless others calling him a beginner does come across as a bit ignorant.

  • Not a problem Raghebn...I watched both videos again and he is an excellent player and I saw what he's doing as far as this being an "exercise." Good stuff! Sorry for the flippant comments earlier....maybe you can delete them? heheh {:D
