The Arhoolie Foundation in El Cerrito, Calif., has an archive that includes more than 30,000 78 rpm recordings of Mexican and Mexican American music and other performances. With the help of the Los Tigres del Norte Fund at UCLA and the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center, those 78s, and a number of the Arhoolie Foundation's 45 rpm recordings, have been digitized as part of the online Strachwitz Frontera Collection of Mexican and Mexican American Music at UCLA. (Interviews: Chris Strachwitz, Antonio Cuellar)

the Native Mechica an early pre- Aztecan race. O.K. Kids. Thank you Cris and Antonio

  • This is a great project you are doing here, preserving these gems for current and future generations!!...Lloyd.

  • Well whether you believe me or not Chicano has another meaning. Plus a Chicano is someone who was born in America with Mexican parents. After the first generation a Hispanic is no longer a Chicano since he and his family would have assimilated into the culture. look that up in Cultural Geography. Chicano is someone who was born in America with Mexican parents. After the first generation a Hispanic is no longer a Chicano since he and his family would have assimilated into the culture.
