Great video. I use that same trick with the spare gear for immobilizing the crank. -WERA #794

Love this. It's cool to see the build and the win together!
Buff helped me with my SL350 build a few years back. His head porting was a work of art. He was very patient and knowledgeable, and the resulting motor and bike has been a real pleasure to own and ride.
What is Buff doing with the head gasket using the torch and the water? Annealing it? Also would like to know what the material used to seal the head gasket is.

There are quite a few parts taken out underneath that single gear clutch basket :)

is that intake to a tuned length? my calculations put me at a lot longer then that, for 10,000 rpm redline...

Don't forget to put a racing cam chain tensioner in there.
(unlike the stock tensioner I found in the racing engine you sold me!)
Yeah. The ex Todd Henning head on it had the valves ground so deep there was 'low' compression . Not what you think guys....

@Supraclinoid Hi Andy! That engine was sold over 7 years ago to you and built about 13 years ago. No claims of a teflon tensioner or compression were ever made, only that it was Todd's motor he used in 1998. Maybe you would feel better if you made it out to the track sometime... (P.S. results DO speak for themselves ; p
