Well, I must admit that perhaps Johnny Logan wouldn't have won in Brussels if Arja had taken part instead of Lotta, but I'd forgotten that this same year Vicki Rosti represented Finland with a Top 1 entry! So a difficult decision for the jurys. Anyway, Arja's song is much better than Lotta's!

Yes, you are so right. By the last jury to vote Lotta had 58 pts and Arja 50. The last jury gave Lotta only one point. Of course Arja got 8 pts and lost by one single point! But Amina lost by one point in 1991 so that must has been harder. You write that Arja would win in Brussels... Maybe Arja would have been top-five but not number one, maybe four, it´s so hypothetical. Israel was my favourite that year.

It's really a pity that this song didn't win the Melodifestivalen, because it's fairly better than Lotta's entry. If Arja Saijonmaa would have represented Sweden with this song I'm sure Johnny Logan would haven't won 1987 ESC! :-)
