KATATONIA - Dispossession

album: Last Fair Deal Gone Down
year: 2001
country: Sweden

JONAS RENKSE - vocals, guitars, programming
ANDERS NYSTROM - guitars, keyboards, programming
FRED NORRMAN - guitars
MATTIAS NORRMAN - bass
DANIEL LILJEKVIST - drums and percussion

It is to see a traitor go free
It is to feel a filter in me
It is to leave the lights that I saw
It is to ask: is it easy to go

In this dead hour
Here with you
Seconds are worthless
In this dead hour
When all is blank
Minutes are worthless

How long will it take until
There will be room enough for hope
It is so sad to see
Dispossession
It has become my obsession

It is to have a knife in my back
It is to say my soul got a crack

  • @xitlokrox I'm pretty sure the singer is white, actually. Swedish + "nigga" = swigga? What up my swiggaz? Oh, never mind.

  • I think Katatonia is the only band that I love all songs from

  • BUY MY FUCKING RACCOONS PEOPLE WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM

  • @Feanor940 sounds like the clap

  • 6 of the people who dont like this song are posessed. :p

  • these guys are a double kick bass METAL.....Pink Floyd.....

  • I always thought of a way I could put my finger on Katatonia...and I think I've nailed it. As soon as the vocals start, I think of them as being a strange hybrid between Opeth and the Deftones :D

Both wonderful bands, but still katatonia is in a league of its own

  • I was first turned on to Katatonia in the mid 1990's when I lived in Europe. Their music has stayed with me up until this point and we remain with me after. Each album has its own uniqueness and nuances that make me fall in love with the band all over again. From growls to melodies few bands go where Katatonia goes and I like it better that way. My favorite Katatonia song is... every one of them. Feanor940's comment 4months ago is the best I have heard, "This riff burns my soul"...

  • @cyberbehrens Yeah my introduction to them was "Day is The New Night", my original first impression was wow, this is the closest thing to Opeth's Damnation. I immediately ordered "The Great Cold Distance" which I also enjoyed a lot. Yesterday I just received "Last Fair Deal Gone Down", "Tonight's Decision" and "Viva Emptiness". I've given then all a quick listen and I'm really pleased, I'll probably end up getting them all, although I'm old the first 2 are much more death then these ones.
