The Saturn ring plane crossing where Saturn's rings are edge-on with respect to the Sun takes places in August 2009, promising a whole raft of new discoveries about the rings as the Cassini spacecraft observes the shadows cast by raised structures or embedded moons. Astronomy Now's Keith Cooper spoke to Professor Carl Murray of Queen Mary, University of London and a member of the Cassini Imaging Team, about the upcoming event.
