Chinese New Year 2009 in Shanghai (Longbai Area) 春节在上海龙柏薪村 - Part 1

This video begins just minutes before 12 midnight on the 2009 Lunar Chinese New Year as I walk out of my housing community (佳信花园) on Huang Hua Road (黄桦路) in the Longbai area of Shanghai, about 10 minutes east of Shanghai's Hongqiao airport,. Aside from the fireworks upfront but you can hear hundreds (thousands) of fireworks going off in the distance.

At the end of this video, several men approach a minivan and retrieve more fireworks. I believe these men work for the local government and have been ordered to set off fireworks in designated locations. In the next video, you can see this van driving off, presumably to set off fireworks in another location.
