Mary Josephson made a mural for a public art project in Stockton, California. This video starts when the project is still in progress and finishes when the whole piece is completed. The mural involves both paint and glass mosaic.
P.S. Mary, I understand your interest in folk/naive art. I too understand and respond to the HONESTY of that work. I am too well educated to be included in that cadre. Too bad. However, I still respond to that kind of intuitive sense and believe in this mode of work. I have that connection too. Thanks again!
This video is so interesting to me. I have thought so much about public art. I don't know where to start. Mary tells her process. I am grateful for that. This will help me. I just want to know where to start. This video takes the mystery out of it. I am not sure I would ever use glass. However, it gives me ideas for how I might approach projects like this. I too want to find MY WAY. Thank you BOTH!
