It's pushing on a year since we were surrounded by building works, and Phil casually recorded 'Dancing Queen' in a garden surrounded by old advertising plaques and adorned with an old toilet. Then of course, Phil - in builder mode - showed a bit of leg; in this new 2009 version, he shows a different bit of leg!. Let us know what you think!

  • get that toilet out of your vids - it takes away my appetite to eat.

  • @pelahale The toilet is being used in an 'ironic' mode in relation to the previous 'Dancing Queen' video. I'm not in the business of putting toilets in my videos as a rule - and anyway, surely you were just listening to the music?

  • Thanks for your fab arrangements.. is this a Martin?

I'm still searching for a good guitare... I'm looking for a Jimmy Page type of sound..

What do you think of todays Martins? D28? I tryed a Santa Cruz Tony Rice pretty amazing guitar but seems very lightly constructed and the sound tho beautiful doesnt seem to have that "Martin" tipical medium sound.. Thanks if you have interest/time in sharing your experience.. :-)

  • @smartti1970 Hi there,

Yes, that's a Martin D-16H made in the early 1990's as a kind of cheaper D18. However, the side started to crack (years of abuse!) so I replaced it with a 2005 D-28. My main guitar is a Santa Cruz OM/PW which I play extensively on here. I think the boutique makers place much more attention to detail than Martin who I think are happy continuing to mine the mass-market. I would reckon a Jimmy Page (acoustic) sound would come from a Gibson 12-string

    Cheers & thanks

    Phil

  • un placer escucharte :)

  • @philhare Thanks very much Phil.. you can see Jimmy Page play on concerts (same sound on the ledzepplin albums) a Martin D28 apparently from the 70's..

It has a nice medium full sound.. What would you consider your D28 type of sound? I tryed one and found it very balanced and perfect for rythme only slightly dry treble.. do you know the Santa cruz rony rice?

  • Hej Phil, it´s just great and you make me smile and I can´t be still !! from a big abba fan ! Cheers !!

  • Must have drunk it!
