SCOTT Family patriarch, Johnny Scott and wife Ann, were direct beneficiaries of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Both remember the excitement of preparing to vote as young adults in Biloxi, MS. Mr. Scott offers remembrances of his father and grandfather being subjected to the infamous "literacy tests," designed to disenfranchise many Black voters.

The SCOTTS have established a tradition of voting, in their family. Grandson "Tray" offers his own view from the perspective of a young adult not yet old enough to vote.
