  • One of the better interpretations (and organists!) of this composition here at the You-tube community; thank you very much and keep on playing!

  • I love the huge "clunk" at 5:53 you can tell something big is about to happen ! ( btw what is the clunk ? )

  • Like the tempo and couplers action! One of the best rendition of this piece, just after Feike Asma's one!

  • A flawless performace, made even more powerful when M. Mayeur sustains the Bb pedal before the final chord!

  • I agree wholeheartedly@andre26071955

  • Without wandering off-topic, I was referring to the distance between the natural key-front and the front of the 'sharps'. I think you'll find that in comparison with S Sulpice, S Ouen, Notre-Dame's C-C console, S Sernin, to name a few, Sacre-Coeur's keys are much longer...just take a look! And also remember that the Sacre-Coeur is also unique in being a four-manual console with concave stop-jambs...

  • I have never seen CC organs with small keys, they are always quite large.

Sacre Chœur organ was originally placed in a big hall in a castle. CC built many organs with 2 (former Trocadéro, St Antoine de Quinze-Vingts, Amsterdam.. list is endless) or 3 (Institute for the Blind, Sacre-Cœur..) expression boxes. So 'more than one' exp. box is not at all proof it's not a CC..!

But don't mix up the organ in this video (not a CC) and Sacre Cœur ;-).

  • Interesting case at Sacre-Coeur though - wasn't it originally a 'house organ'?? Note manual keys are of piano size, not the shorter 'organ' size of most (if not all) other Cavailles...

  • A fine replica of a Cavaille-Coll, right down to the console, and an excellent performance, with fine registration and BEAUTIFUL control and tempo (moreso than I can manage, I'm afraid). Kudos, five stars and a favorite!
