Summary
Chimpanzees come in a variety of shapes, sizes, attitudes and looks and they are the closest relatives to humankind. This six minute film of chimp behavior exposes the animals at work, at play and at rest and particularly shows off their natural inquisitiveness. The films closing story of Gregoire, who was only recently freed from solitary captivity over several decades in the Brazzaville Zoo, helps audiences come away from the film with a new appreciation for the special relationship between humans and chimps.
Much of the material was filmed by INCEF cameraman Anatole Mafoula at the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Hidden camera research footage was provided by Crickette Sanz and Dave Morgan of the Goualougo Chimpanzee Research Project in the Nouabale-Ndoki National Park (visit their website). Original music was composed by editor Jéhu Olivier Bikoumou and there is a minimal amount of narration.

I think Gregoire was a beautiful chimpanzee and the lady chimp just before he was shown was La Vielle who is 45 years old now.
