  • me and my old man use shimano tld's and penns both just as nice in my eyes nice fish man! where was that caught at?

  • Just off the south west corner of Stellwagen at about 9am. I love the TLD's, no worries about scratching up the pretty gold casing like the Penn Internationals. I have two penn 50's, a 30wide, and an 80. I'll take the TLD 50 every time. Won't be long before the fish are back. I'm counting the minutes!

  • Yes, The reel is a Shimano TLD50 IILRSA. The rod is a pretty cheap Daiwa EB Tuna Stick. I have several of these Shimano reels. I like them better than the Penn Internationals I own (Penn Int. 30, 50w, and 80). Thanks for the compliment.

  • Great video! We are headed out of Plymouth Harbor this Wednesday with high hopes of raising our first tuna of the season. Better late than never!

  • Good luck there are lots of fish on the bank now.

  • Great fish; amazing how big the bluefin get so close to where you guys leave from.

My dad would have killed me if he saw me high sticking the fish like the angler did, but it obviously worked.

  • check out the video above...

ours was only 56" but we used a littlt bit lighter tackle!

  • @crlrcksn

Blame it on the Japanese and their demand for BFT.

  • damn i am out of shape i lost my breath just watching this.

  • Boy, it pains me to say this, but the tuna you're getting of middle bank these days are babies compared to what we caught in the 70's and 80's. A small fish then was 500 or less. we took one on our boat that was 1,005lbs. I'ts really sad that the bluefin has been over fished just like everything else that was out there at one time.

  • What main line braid and leader strength would you recamend

  • i've always found it interesting how east coasters use the length of the fish to determine the size whereas here on the west coast we tend to use the weight. nothing wrong with either, just taking note.

    nice fish too.

  • killing babies
