@Montyleeny14 There are good and bad pianos so p,aying on a good piano is not irrelevant. If a pianist tried to express himself/herself on a mediocre piano no matter how good the pianist it would not sound good.So it is not irrelevant otherwise if it was pianists would play on Zender pianos which has an awful sound. Even most concert pianists quote the steinway as the best expressive instrument thats why most choose to play on it.Bosendorfer is obviously another good one too.
@TheGreatRichter That assertion is irrelevant. A difference in piano does not enhance the sound. Rather, it is the technique of the pianist to adapt to the piano's technology.
The Steinway is such ia versatile instrument it allows a pianist to express whatever his/her thoughts are about the music they are playing and there are so many different interpretations on offer. In all my study of pianists technique and interpretative qualities I have yet heard a pianist who can master and deliver a sound so pure and emotionally and spiritually satisfying as Perahia. It always feels like you are listening to the perfect performance of whatever he maybe playing.
@TheGreatPerahia That's true! I should have not forgotten about quality... :-))
