The LTTE outfit has confirmed that its leader Velupillai Prabhakaran is facing the death knell. (22/02/2008)
Foreign reports point out that the relevant information has been intimated to LTTE international branches.
One of the limbs of Prabhakaran, who suffered serious injuries during an air raid, has been amputated.It is bared that a group of foreign doctors was in Kilinochchi recently to provide treatment to the LTTE leader.
But the doctors had said that he could not be extended the required treatment in Kilinochchi.As such they had advised that Prabhakaran should be sent abroad. However, he could not leave from his hideout in the face of heavy attacks and search operations carried out by the security forces. As such, the doctors had given up the treatment process.
Four Tamil doctors are reported to have died when the "X'ray Base" came under attack by the Air Force on the 23rd of January.
Meanwhile sources emanating from the Wanni said a serious dispute has precipitated within the tiger outfit following the latest developments. The situation had aggravated with leadership powers being vested in Pottu Amman.
Reports reaching from an LTTE network operating in Australia had revealed that one group of the LTTE is exerting pressure to disarm and surrender to the Government.
