Well said. Here in Ottawa as well, most cycling "Features" on the road are put in simply where conveniant, by officials who seemingly don't ride bicycles, and they'll often do foolish things like entice you into a bikepath and then promptly end it in a really dangerous intersection/onramp.

Agreed. City of Montreal's approach to cyclism ever since mayor Pierre Bourque has been contemptible toward "inner city" cyclists, seemlingly considering that cycling should be no more than a leisure activity along Lachine canal and the paths circling the island. "Let's keep them off downtown!", must they think...
