Volvo Ocean Race - 3D Race Tracker Animation

After nearly a week of sailing since the Leg 3 restart in Male, Maldives, the Volvo Ocean Race fleet is headed for the dangerous and unpredictable Malacca Strait as the boats make their way to the finish in Sanya, China. PUMA Ocean Racing led the fleet across the Indian Ocean south of Sri Lanka before CAMPER with Emirates Team New Zealand moved into the lead. Team Telefonica took a more northerly route as all of the boats were within striking distance of each other as they approached the Malacca Strait. The Malacca Strait is a treacherous area for the teams, an area known for commercial ship congestion, powerful currents and frequent thunderstorms.
