It is nice to be called the 'empire' but, as the umpire for this and every match which I do, my only intention is to be fair. The calls at the Net and on the Line were, as always, instinctive. At that moment that is what I saw and that is when I call. I never look to see who is affected. It is my duty to make the call. Well done to Kevin - he took his chance and went on to have a great World Championships. Chen Long was very sporting and he will have learned a lot from this match.
